🕊️ History of the Trust

A Legacy of Service and Compassion

The Chaganam Lalithamma Bhaskara Rao Memorial Trust (Reg. No. 96/2020) was founded in 2020 at Pellakuru, Tirupati District, Andhra Pradesh, by Shri Chaganam Gowrishankar Garu in loving memory of his late parents — Shri Bhaskara Rao Garu and Smt. Lalithamma Garu.

The Trust was born out of a deep desire to carry forward the values of humility, empathy, and selfless service that were central to their lives. Both parents were respected in their community for their simplicity, generosity, and unwavering commitment to helping others.
Their lives became the inspiration for their son to institutionalize these values into a structured, sustainable platform for social good.

Foundation and Purpose

After years of professional success in the infrastructure sector as the founder of CH. Gowrishankar Infra Build (India) Pvt. Ltd.,
Shri Chaganam Gowrishankar Garu decided to dedicate a part of his life and resources to serve the society that shaped him.

He envisioned a permanent institution that would:

  • Serve the underprivileged and the marginalized,

  • Promote education, healthcare, and employment, and

  • Create sustainable community development programs.

Thus, in the year 2020, the Chaganam Lalithamma Bhaskara Rao Memorial Trust was formally established and registered under the Indian Trusts Act.

Inspiration Behind the Name

The Trust carries the names of Smt. Lalithamma Garu and Shri Bhaskara Rao Garu — two individuals whose lives embodied kindness, discipline, and community service.

“Lalithamma Garu’s compassion and Bhaskara Rao Garu’s integrity became the foundation stones upon which this Trust stands.”

Their son, Shri Chaganam Gowrishankar Garu, created this institution not as a symbol of remembrance, but as a living legacy — one that transforms values into meaningful action.

Early Years of Service (2020–2022)

The Trust began its journey modestly, focusing on the immediate needs of rural communities in Pellakuru and neighboring mandals.

Initial activities included:

  • Conducting free blood test and medical camps in local villages.

  • Organizing eye camps under the “Lalithamma Kanti Velugu Pathakam.”

  • Establishing Skill Development Centres for youth and women.

  • Distributing plants and promoting green initiatives.

  • Providing wheelchairs, tricycles, and walking aids to differently-abled individuals.

Within the first two years, the Trust’s efforts touched thousands of lives across Tirupati and SPSR Nellore Districts.

Growth and Expansion (2023–2025)

Encouraged by community participation and measurable outcomes, the Trust expanded its reach with structured programs and collaborations.

Key Milestones:
☑️ Installation of 2,800 cement benches across Tirupati and SPSR Nellore Districts.
☑️ Establishment of additional Skill Development Centres (Computer, Tailoring, Driving, Beautician).
☑️ Career guidance programs reaching over 9,000 students across 95 schools.

☑️ Execution of Disaster Relief Operations during floods and the COVID-19 pandemic, supporting 200+ families.

Through consistent effort, the Trust evolved from a local welfare body to a recognized community service organization respected across Andhra Pradesh.
